  • JaneFrances -- When you say the cheesecloth stays on do you mean until the very end? I have a 30 pound turkey which will probably be in the oven for 5 1/2 to 6 hours. When do you recommend taking the cheesecloth off? Thank you in advance.

  • Having not heard from Dear Martha nor any of her minions here are my assumptions: 325 degrees oven. The mysterious 4 tablespoons of butter are to rub on the turkey prior to applying the cheesecloth.

  • Looks like a very good recipe. I have a 30 pound bird. Does the cheese cloth still stay on 3 hours? Most important, Is the oven temp 325?
